DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS DEVELOPMENT

The need for schematic sketches or construction documents should be discussed to determine their appropriateness to a particular project.  Depending on who will be involved performing the work and the method of securing a contract, varying degrees of specifications and drawings may be necessary.  Generally, the smaller the project and the more familiar all involved parties are with one another’s procedures and work, the less need there is for involved documentation.  It is important to understand the relationships between the type of project and the type of design requirements needed.

Design Documents range from Conceptual to Schematic to Construction and should always include some form of written and/or visual materials’ and installation specifications.
